My name is Dove Vagatai, and I'm the mama behind Dove School Corner. I share my life with my wonderful husband and our six amazing children, whom I have the joy of homeschooling.

I am deeply committed to supporting families in this meaningful journey of homeschooling. Growing up on O’ahu, the island holds a special place in my heart and gives me a deep sense of kuleana to pour into the future of our home. I find great fulfillment in teaching children—both my own and others—about Jesus, art, nature, history, and good books. Sharing my knowledge and passion with young minds brings me immense joy, as I believe in nurturing the next generation of creative thinkers and world changers.

For the past seven years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching art classes and guiding students through creative exploration. As an artist, I’ve showcased my work, completed commissioned pieces, and witnessed firsthand the transformative power of art in a child’s life. My experience also includes serving as a lead children’s ministry director, where I developed and led programs that helped kids grow in faith and confidence. Over the years, I’ve been involved in both children’s and youth ministries—roles that have shaped my heart for mentoring and equipping young people.

One of my greatest aspirations is to establish a vibrant homeschool community where families can come together to share resources, knowledge, and encouragement. I envision a space where parents can collaborate and find support while creating opportunities for engaging instruction, meaningful experiences, and authentic connections that enrich the educational journey.

My Christian faith forms the foundation of who I am and guides every aspect of my life. It deeply influences my approach to teaching, parenting, and how I engage with the world around me. I can’t wait to get to know your ohana and partner with you—it truly takes a village!
